Getting started
On first launch MyDay asks which areas of life you want to keep track of. Choose only what you need — switch on the rest later in Modules.
Add your first task and a fixed cost. From tomorrow morning the dashboard shows your whole day.
Backup and a new phone
Easiest: Settings → Google Drive backup → turn on “Automatic backup once a day”. On the new phone, on the welcome screen choose “Restore a backup” → “From Google Drive” and enter the recovery code the app showed with your first backup. All your data and photos come back. Without the code the backup can’t be read — not even by us.
Without the cloud: go to Settings → Backup → “Export backup”. You get a file ending in .myday that you can save, send to yourself or move by cable.
On the new phone install MyDay, choose Settings → Backup → “Restore backup” and pick the file. The file contains your data, so keep it somewhere safe.
Backup recovery code
Your Google Drive backup is encrypted on your phone. Only the phone knows the key; its second form is the recovery code — 54 characters in 9 groups. The app shows it with your first backup.
Keep it outside your phone: in a password manager or on paper somewhere safe. A screenshot in the same phone’s gallery isn’t enough — it’s lost with the phone.
You can view the code any time in Settings → Google Drive backup → “Show recovery code” (after unlocking the screen). Losing both the phone and the code means the backup can’t be read — we don’t know your code and can’t recreate it.
PIN lock and fingerprint
Turn on the lock in Settings → “App lock”. You set a PIN of 4–8 digits and — if your phone supports it — fingerprint unlock.
Forgotten PIN: for security reasons it cannot be recovered or bypassed. Your data is not deleted after wrong attempts, though. With a backup file you can reinstall the app and restore your data.
Steps from Health Connect
MyDay reads your step count from Health Connect, an Android system service. In the Health module turn on “Count steps automatically” and allow reading steps.
MyDay only reads. It writes nothing to Health Connect and sends nothing off your phone.
Reminders don’t arrive
Check that MyDay is allowed to send notifications (phone Settings → Apps → MyDay → Notifications).
Some phones save battery aggressively and put apps to sleep. In battery settings set MyDay to “Unrestricted”. This mostly affects Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei and OnePlus.
Questions we hear most
Is MyDay free?
Yes. Version 1.0 is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start. No email, no password.
What happens to my data when I change phones?
Turn on Google Drive backup — on the new phone tap “Restore a backup”, enter your recovery code and everything comes back, photos included. You can also move a backup file by hand.
Is MyDay available for iPhone?
MyDay launches on Android. We will announce an iPhone version on this page.
Does MyDay replace a doctor or a financial adviser?
No. MyDay organises your notes and reminds you of dates. It does not diagnose and does not give financial advice.
